TUED events in Antalya: Preliminary Itinerary.
Please note: Neither the TUED interregional nor the PCS is part of the official COP, but comrades can attend meetings in the COP 31 Green Zone without an official credential.
Unions and movement allies from more than 25 countries have already registered, with a strong contingent from the Global South. Unions from Türkiye will also be present both as co-convenors and as participants, as will allies from other movements.
Space is limited to around 100 people. Interpretation will be available (Turkish, English, Spanish) for the Interregional meeting. COP 31 Green Zone events normally have interpretation.
The following logos represent the TUED Interregional Meeting’s co-convening unions:

We will meet at a time when the neoliberal idea that private investors would lead the transition to a low carbon future has been completely discredited and this policy framework is on the verge of collapse. More than a decade after the Paris Agreement, annual global greenhouse-gas emissions have reached their highest level in history. Climate targets are routinely missed, investment remains inadequate (especially in the Global South), energy security concerns go unanswered, and many governments are walking away from their climate commitments.

Support among unions for a public pathway alternative to this failed model is gaining momentum. The approach is anchored in the public ownership of energy and other vital industries, public financing, non-commercial international cooperation and the need to expand the reach of global public goods through a radical reform of the multilateral system.
But the public pathway is not a blueprint, and there is much work to be done at the level of research, policy and organising. The Interregional meeting will showcase union struggles against privatisation and the reclaiming of public services. It will create space for unions, policy allies, and social movements to collectively strengthen an approach that puts people and the planet before private profit.

Comrades attending the TUED interregional are invited to participate in the People’s Climate Summit (PCS) that will take place from Monday, November 15th to Thursday, November 18th. The PCS will also take place at the Mimar Sinan Congress Center. Please register for the PCS here. Those who register will receive periodic updates on the program of the PCS. TUED will also be organising or co-organising several panels. Details to follow.
Trade union members are also invited to attend the ITUC Strategy Day on the afternoon of Sunday November 15th (local time). Register Here
